During the Great War David Bryce Harvie served in the ranks of the Royal Scots in France, 30 July 1916-25 August 1917 and 19 June 1918-30 January 1919, and was wounded on 22 August 1917, taking a gunshot to the right leg at Zonnebeke. Later serving in the ranks of the Royal Tank Corps, he was commissioned in March 1941 and transferred to the 2nd Reconnaissance Regiment in May 1941 and served in India and Burma. He was Quartermaster with the Advanced H.Q. ALFSEA. At the end of the war he returned to England and was awarded the M.B.E. Having suffered with mental problems whilst overseas, Captain Harvie committed suicide at his home in Weymouth on 18 December 1945. Sold with some copied research.
