George Vincent was born in Dawlish, Dorset on 19 December 1861 and entered the Royal Navy as a Domestic 3rd Class in August 1880. Becoming a Lamptrimmer in 1882 and a Stoker 2nd Class in 1883, he attained the rank of Leading Stoker 2nd Class in 1894. This same year he was transferred to the Coast Guard, variously based at Roundstone - Limerick, Portland Bill, Abbotsbury, Weymouth and Osmanton. For the duration of the Great War he was based on Victory II. Sold with copied service details.
