William J. Keenan, onetime a native of Rugby, and of New Bilton, appears to have transferred to the Hampshire Regiment right at the end of the War. Not having entered a theatre of war until 1916, he was only entitled to the British War & Victory Medals (MIC entry refers).
Sold with a pair of original G.O.C., 29th Division commendation cards, the first citing the recipient’s gallant conduct on 9 October 1917 and the second his gallant conduct at Bailleul on 4 September 1918.
