Nairnshire Artillery Volunteers, a fine and extremely rare officer’s shako plate c1860, in multi-part silver plate, an eight pointed star mounted with a QVC, laurel sprays enclosing a black velvet ground upon which are three further mounts, ‘NAV’ in script capitals over ‘45’ (County precedence) and a cannon, two screw post fasteners to the reverse, very fine condition though the wires for the mounts are unnecessarily reinforced with glue £350-450
This lot was sold as part of a special collection, The Collection of Artillery Insignia formed by the late Norman Litchfield.
