Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Sebastopol (Capt., R.A.) engraved in upright capitals; Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue, unnamed, with replacement silver loop and ring suspension, first with some edge bruising, very fine and better (2) £250-300

Robert Boyle entered the Royal Artillery as a 2nd Lieutenant on 19 December 1848 and was advanced to Lieutenant on 15 February 1849 and to Captain on 1 June 1855. With the Artillery he served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol in 1855. Placed on Half Pay on 13 December 1865, he was subsequently appointed Adjutant 1st Administrative Brigade of the Glamorgan Artillery Volunteers.
