Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 4 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901 (7568 Pte. W. Davidson, North’d. Fus.) good very fine £160-200

William Davidson was born in Hexham, Northumberland. A Barman by occupation and a member of the 1st Volunteer Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, he attested for regular service with Northumberland Fusiliers at Hexham on 29 January 1900. He served in South Africa from 24 February 1900 and was wounded in action at Oliphants Nek on 21 July 1900. He returned to England on 20 May 1901 and was discharged on 27 May. Sold with copied service papers.
