British War Medal 1914-20 (11952 Pte. G. Morris, Welsh R.) suspension slightly slack, slight edge bruising, very fine £25-35

Walter George Duckett was born in Forest Gate, Essex and enlisted into the army as ‘George Morris’ at Llanelly. Serving with the 2nd Battalion Welsh Regiment, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 29 November 1914 and was killed in action on 8 November 1917, aged 28 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke, West Vlaanderen, Belgium. He was the son of George and Selina Duckett of 64 Rosebery Avenue, East Ham, London.
