When the enemy had gained a footing in our lines and had erected a barricade, he attacked them with such vigour that he drove them back 60 yards beyond their barricade. Though wounded in the shoulder by a revolver bullet and slightly stunned by a bomb, he continued bombing till too stiff and faint for further activity’.
