Army L.S. & G.C., W.IV.R. (John Taylor, Scots Fusilier Guards 1838) steel claw and ring suspension, severe edge bruising, fine £350-450

John Taylor was born in the Parich of Hollinswood near Manchester. By trade a Weaver, he enlisted into the Army at Dublin on 8 December 1813, aged 32 years. He served in Flanders and France from September 1814 to January 1916, seeing action at the battles of Quatre Bras and Waterloo. He served in Portugal during 1827-28, fighting in the Carlist War. Discharged due to debility on 7 March 1837, aged 55 years. Sold with some copied service details.
