Royal Humane Society, small bronze medal (successful), (Frederick Wicks, 22nd Sept. 1920) minor edge bruising, very fine £90-110

‘On 22 September 1920 the man accidentally fell overboard from the vessel which was on the way to the fishing ground. Sea calm. Wicks jumped after him, swam 200 yards and got hold of him after diving and they were picked up’. The rescue took place off The Longstone, one of the Outer Staple Islands, off the Northumbrian coast.
