Percy Edwin Mean lived at Clapton and enlisted at Shaftesbury Street, London. He was killed in action on 1 July 1916 whilst serving with the 4th Battalion, London Regiment and his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France. The 4th Battalion, London Regiment suffered 4 officers and 48 other ranks killed on 1 July 1916.
