James Murray Samuels was born and enlisted at Glasgow and lived at Cardonald, Renfrew. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 20 June 1917 whilst serving with X Corps, Cyclist Company, Army Cyclist Corps and is commemorated on Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
