Archibald Bruce Millar was born on 22 September 1893. Having previously served in the ranks of the Scottish Horse, he was commissioned on 10 July 1915 and transferred to the Indian Army on 13 August 1918. During the Great War he served in Iraq, March-December 1917 and Palestine, January-September 1918.
