Edwin Abbot was born at Portsea, Hampshire, in 1880, and was a Naval Stores Officer at Portsmouth Dockyard before joining the Metropolitan Police on 4 November 1901, aged 21. He was awarded the Society’s Bronze Medal and £2 2s. for rescuing Henry Collins, aged 58, from a fire at 28 Weedington Road, Kentish Town, on 23 December 1906. (Ref. case no. 15,100). He retired from the police service in April 1919. Sold with some copied details.
