Sydney Wyles, 6th Battalion Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 30 December 1915. Sold with original (damaged) lid to card box of issue; embroidered silk ‘Oxford & Bucks’ postcard; five other postcards, including one of the recipient on a J. A. Prestwick motorcycle, the second a group photograph with the recipient in field uniform and another a group photograph of the recipient in hospital. A note with the lot states that he was severely gassed and that postwar he was a Tram Driver in Nottingham.
