The Uniform Coinage of India, East India Company, William IV, silver Rupee, 1835, type A/I, Calcutta, bust left, rs [Robert Saunders] on truncation, william iiii , king ., smaller thinner letters, rev. one rupee, yek rupiya surrounded by laurel wreath with extra berry at top on left side, east india company around, date below with stop to right, edge grained, 11.66g/12h (Prid. 32 [Sale, lot 19]; SW 1.37; KM. 450.7; cf. Fore III, 2358). Area of staining on obverse rim between 12 and 3 o’clock, trifling bagmarks, otherwise virtually as struck with original bloom, very rare £400-£600
