The Uniform Coinage of India, British Imperial Period, George V, bronze Half-Pice (3), 1917, Calcutta, crowned and robed bust left, elephant on decoration with longer tusks, george v king emperor, rev. 1/2 pice above india and date surrounded by serpentine wreath of vine leaves, edge plain, 2.44g/12h (Prid. 750 [Sale, lot 173]; SW 8.400; KM. 510); 1918, Calcutta, similar, edge plain, 2.41g/12h (Prid. 751 [Sale, lot 173]; SW 8.402; KM. 510); 1919, Calcutta, similar, edge plain, 2.33g/12h (Prid. 752 [Sale, lot 173]; SW 8.404; KM. 510) [3]. First good very fine but with a particularly high-relief elephant, others brilliant and as struck, last lightly toned and with proof-like surfaces, undoubtedly a very early strike £100-£150
