George III (1760-1820), Soho Mint, Birmingham, Pattern Halfpenny, 1797 (early Soho), by C.H. Küchler, in gilt-copper, laureate bust right, 2 berries in wreath, ermined fold of drapery flush, rev. Britannia seated left, soho and triangle of dots on rock, ship with 3 stays from foremast to bowsprit, edge plain, 14.55g/6h (BMC 1156 [KH 7]). Some spotting in reverse field, light hairlines, otherwise brilliant and practically as struck, rare [certified and graded NGC PF 62 Cameo] £1,000-£1,500
