Arthur Robert Puzey entered the Army as a Lieutenant in the Royal Engineers in 1864 and served in the Abyssinian campaign as an officer in charge of the telegraphs between Zoulla and Antalo, work for which he was mentioned in despatches - ‘The telegraph worked well and rendered important service’. Promoted Captain in 1878, he served in the Egypt campaign of 1882 when he commanded the 21st Company R.E. Puzey attained the rank of Major in 1884 and died on 6 May 1889.
