Matthew Hewitt was born in the Parish of Kidderminster, Worcestershire, and enlisted there on 14 June 1804, aged 16, a carpet weaver by trade. He was discharged on 25 December 1829, in consequence of palpitations of the heart and being addicted to drink. He died at Kidderminster at the end of 1843. Sold with copied discharge papers.
