Arthur Sidney James Goslin was mentioned in despatches for his services as a Master at Arms aboard the cruiser H.M.S. Jamaica during the closing months of the war (Seedie’s and London Gazette 11 December 1945 refer); it was in the Jamaica that the King and Queen took passage to visit the liberated Channel Islands.
Goslin was advanced to Warrant Master at Arms in December 1948 and to Senior Commissioned Master at Arms in April 1955, the latter rate being re-styled as Lieutenant (S.D. - Special Duties) Regulating in 1957, shortly before his retirement.
