E. R. Waker, an Architect by occupation, served in the 47th Company 13th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry in South Africa, 1 March-17 October 1900. Was taken prisoner at Lindley on 31 May 1900. He was one of the ‘special’ prisoners that was sent along with the officers to a prison camp at Barberton, being released in September 1900. With some copied research.
