Harry Haywood, who was born in May 1915, enlisted in the Royal Air Force in June 1936 and served as a Fitter out in the Middle East from May 1940 until October 1944, prior to his release from the Service in October 1945; sold with a quantity of original documentation, including the recipient’s R.A.F. Service and Release Book, together with two uniform patches and his Corporal’s stripes.
Robert Barwood Kay was an employee of the Union Bank of Manchester from October 1936 to July 1939, when he departed for South Africa with his parents, and thence to Southern Rhodesia. Enlisting in the latter country in July 1940, he was embarked for service in the Royal Air Force in the U.K., returning to Salisbury in October 1945, when he was discharged; sold with a quantity of original documentation, including his Southern Rhodesia Certificate of Discharge, identity card and a portrait photograph.
