David Davidson, a native of Manchester, who was born in March 1907, enlisted in the R.A.M.C. (Territorials) in December 1926 and transferred to the Supplementary Reserve with an appointment in 125th (East Lancashire) Field Ambulance in April 1936. As per accompanying original documentation, he was awarded his Africa Star for service in Malta, received his Efficiency Medal (Militia) in 1941 and a Bar in 1944, and appears to have ended the War with an appointment at Netley Hospital, Hampshire, following further active service in Italy; sold with a quantity of original documentation, including the recipient’s Soldier’s Service and Pay Book and his S.O. Book 136, inscribed ‘Pte. D. Davidson, H.Q. Coy.’, with hand written notes regarding rations, etc.; a typed list of units and their codes, as per Malta, a copy of the Times of Malta, 2 October 1941, and an identity card, dated 21 February 1943; together with several photographs and a quantity of badges of wartime R.A.M.C. vintage (7), metal and cloth, in addition to his Driver’s National Safety Test Badge, with clasps for 1936-38, and a Past President Rotary Club Badge, these two named.
