Indian Mutiny 1857-59, 1 clasp, Defence of Lucknow (Havildr. Surdar Khan. 13th Regt. N.I.) impressed naming, minor marks, otherwise very fine and rare £200-250

Only partial rolls survive for the 13th Bengal Native Infantry but Havildar Surdar Khan is not listed on them. A memorial to the regiment at Lucknow records that nine havildars were among those that died during the siege of the city but sadly gives no names. However, the style of naming indicates that this could possibly be a medal to the 13th Bombay Native Infantry, in which case entitlement to the clasp for the Defence of Lucknow is not a possibility.

Havildar Surdar Khan is named on the roll of the 13th Bombay N.I. as being entitled to the clasp for Central India only (I/Mil/5/10830)
