William Stapleton enlisted on 20 June 1908. Serving with the 2nd Battalion he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 8 September 1914. Serjeant Stapleton was discharged due to sickness on 17 July 1917. Awarded the Silver War Badge (not with lot).
