William Arthur Littler, a native of Tipperary, Ireland, was born in 1894 and attested for service in the Royal Artillery on 26 February 1913. He served with the 2nd Brigade, Royal Field Artillery during the Great War on the Western Front from 11 September 1914 (entitled to a clasp to his 1914 Star), and was promoted Bombardier on 29 May 1918. He was discharged on 6 April 1919.
Sold with the recipient’s Soldiers Active Service Pay Book (a few pages missing); a half-length photograph in uniform; and official Certificate of Discharge which confirms all four medals.
