Roman Imperial Coinage, Theodosius I (379-395), Third Miliarensis [or Light Siliqua], Trier, 378-83, d n theodo-sivs p f avg, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. perpetvetas, radiate phoenix standing left on globe, tr ps in exerge, 1.63g/12h (MC 1, this coin; Cuddeford 8, this coin; RIC IX p.25, 56(c); RSC 26+). Well struck up on a neat round flan, very fine, light hoard patina; excessively rare, being perhaps only the fifth known specimen and the only one available to commerce £2,000-£2,600
