Leisek, busts of Viktor Keldorfer, Karl Udel, Ferdinand Hörbeder and Eugen Weiss, rev. theatrical audience applauding at left, legend in five lines at right, 55 x 34mm, 40.15g (Hauser 5579; Niggl 2032; Wurzb. 8897, recté 20 Jährige; BDM III, 381; cf. The Udel Quartet, founded in 1880 by Karl Udel (1844-1927), a Croatian who moved to Vienna in 1861, enjoyed considerable success, performing in European cities into the early years of the twentieth century. The other members included Viktor Keldorfer (1873-1959) and Eugen Weiss (1854-1904).
