David II (1329-1371), Second coinage, Class A, Groat, class A3, Edinburgh, mm. cross pattée, small young bust, tressure of six arcs, rosettes in spandrels, saltire stops, plain v in david and scotorvm, saltire after villa, 4.62g/5h (SCBI 35, 363, same obv. die; B 6, fig. 252, same rev. die; S 5093). Small die flaw on king’s face, good very fine with old cabinet toning, very rare £400-£500
