Roman Imperial Coinage, Augustus (27 BC-AD 14), Denarius, Lugdunum, 9-8 BC, avgvstvs diva f around laureate head of Augustus right, rev. c caes above, avgvs [–] below Gaius Caesar galloping right, holding sword in right hand and shield in left, aquila between two standards behind, 3.04g/8h (Ghey 371.3, this coin; BMC 500-502; RIC 199; RSC 40). Banker’s mark ‘S’ to obverse on Augustus’ cheek, graffito in field before, otherwise good fine £150-£200
