Sir Thomas William Moffett (1820-1908), scholar and educationalist, foundation professor of logic and metaphysics at Queen’s College, 1849, professor of history and English literature 1863, registrar 1870-7 and president 1877-97. He was also a Berkeley gold medallist in Greek from Trinity College, Dublin (see lot 1133)
