Hector Constant was born in St. Polycarp, Quebec, on 16 September 1894. A Chauffeur and Mechanic by occupation, he enlisted into the Canadian Engineers at Ottawa in April 1915. Allocated to the 5th Field Company C.E., he arrived in England in April 1915 and in France in April 1917. Awarded the M.M., he was discharged at Montreal in May 1919; sold copied service papers.
