Ernest T. Cleaver was born in Oak River, Manitoba. Employed as a Farm Labourer living in Wadena, Saskatchewan, he enlisted into the 65th Battalion at Saskatoon in June 1915, but was serving with the 46th (South Saskatchewan) Battalion when he was killed in action in operations in the Souchez-Avion Sector on 2 June 1917. He was buried in the Villers Station Cemetery, Villers-au-Bois; sold with copied service and other papers.
