Harold Crowe was born in Liverpool on 16 February 1896. A Farm Hand by occupation, he attested for the 129th Battalion at Ancaster in January 1916, but was serving with the 87th Battalion (Canadian Grenadier Guards) when listed as ‘missing’ on 14 August 1917. Later declared dead on that date, he has no known grave and is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial. He was the husband of Emily Crowe, of 28 Alderson Street, Liverpool; sold with copied service papers.

Note: despite his service in the 129th and 87th Battalions, his B.W.M. is named to the 60th Battalion.
