George Craven was born in Gosport on 11 March 1852. A Coppersmith by occupation, he entered the Royal Navy as an Acting Engine Room Artificer on 9 June 1876. Serving on Triumph, January 1885-December 1888, he attained the rank of C.E.R.A. and was awarded the Royal Navy L.S. & G.C. Pensioned ashore 14 June 1896. With copied service paper.
