Three: Captain L. FitzMaurice, Somerset Light Infantry, killed in action at the Battle of The Ancre, 18 November 1916

1914-15 Star (Lieut., Som. L.I.); British War and Victory Medals (Capt.); together with memorial plaque (Lindsay Fitzmaurice); original portrait photograph of recipient in uniform; five related family photograph albums, mostly pre-war, including one with some interesting pictures taken in China, one of which includes Lord Kitchener; and a book of handwritten poetry, extremely fine (4) £350-400

Lindsay FitzMaurice was educated at London University, taking a commission from The University O.T.C. into the Somerset Light Infantry. He was killed in action on 18 November 1916, at the Battle of the Ancre, having previously been wounded during the Battle of the Somme, and is buried at Ancre British Cemetery, Beaumont-Hamel, Somme, France.
