Edward Maurice Gonner was born in 1895, and educated at Dean Close School, and Lincoln College, Oxford. He was killed in action during the fighting at Arras on 23 April 1917, whilst serving with the 16th Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps. His name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
