Military General Service 1793-1814, 1 clasp, Martinique (J. Flanagan, Serjt. 8th Foot) dark toned, nearly extremely fine £800-1000

John Flanagan was born at Killdermon, Queen’s Co., and enlisted into the 8th Foot on 11 February 1793. He served twenty-two years and 328 days, including 2 years in the West Indies, and was discharged at Windsor on 5 January 1816. Colour-Sergeant Flanagan was taken prisoner in the sortie from Fort Erie on 17th September 1814. Sold with copy discharge papers and relevant muster rolls.
