Edmund Moore, who was born in 1887, enlisted in the Royal Flying Corps in February 1917 and was embarked for France in the following month. As verified by the London Gazette of 11 July 1919, he was subsequently mentioned in despatches for his services in No. 15 Squadron, in which unit he was employed until November 1918. Having been re-mustered as an Air Mechanic 2nd Class in the newly established Royal Air Force, he was transferred to the R.A.F. Reserve in May 1919 and was discharged in April 1920.
Sold with his original M.I.D. certificate and an old family photograph, the former in the name of ‘1st Aircraftman E. Moore, 15th Sqdn.’
