Lawrence Edgar Bartlett was employed at H.Q., 1 (Indian) Wing in the North West Frontier operations of 1936-37 and would appear to have seen service in Burma during the 1939-45 War as a Warrant Officer. In August 1945 he was granted an emergency commission as a Pilot Officer and thereafter held a succession of appointments in the Accountancy and Secretarial Branches of the R.A.F., finally retiring in the rank of Flight Lieutenant in January 1958.
