Rowland John Tuckwell was appointed to a commission as a Pilot Officer in the Royal Air Force Regiment in May 1946, direct from his previous employment as a Flight Sergeant. Advanced to Flying Officer in the following year, and to Flight Lieutenant in May 1952, he was placed on the Retired List in February 1967.
