Anthony Morton was born in 1873, the son of the 3rd Baron Henley. Educated at Eton and Balliol College, Oxford, he was called to the Bar in 1897. He enlisted into the Imperial Yeomanry in 1899 and served in the Boer War with the Scots Greys 1900-07 and then with the 5th Lancers 1907-14. On the General Staff 1914-17, he commanded the 127th Infantry Brigade 1917-19. For his services he was mentioned in despatches, awarded the C.M.G. in 1919 and the D.S.O. in 1916 and received the brevets of Major in 1915, Lieutenant-Colonel in 1917 and Colonel in 1919. Brigadier-General The Hon. Anthony Henley died in 1925.
