During the Boer War Miss Kleo Friend was employed as a Nurse at the Victoria Hospital, Mafeking. During the Great War she was awarded the A.R.R.C. as Commandant of The Castle Auxiliary Hospital, Ryde, Isle of Wight. With copied roll and gazette extracts.
