Henry Johnson was born on 6 March 1841. He joined the Bengal Medical Department as a Hospital Steward on 1 October 1857, serving at the Depot Hospital, Kidderpore. On 26 February 1863 he was appointed Assistant Apothecary 1st Class, still serving at Kidderpore. During 1874 he was transferred to the 11th Royal Artillery as an Apothecary 2nd Class, being advanced to Apothecary 1st Class in July 1880, serving at Bareilly. In January 1892 he was appointed Senior Apothecary, retiring on 22 February 1894. With copied research.
