Private Leslie Stuart Daniel, 14th Battalion London Regiment entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 15 September 1914. He was commissioned into the Essex Regiment on 10 August 1915.
Private Archibald Morris Daniel 28th Battalion London Regiment later received a commission in the 1st Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment. Serving with this unit he was killed in action on 4 October 1917. He was buried in the Tyne Cot Cemetery, Belgium. The two men were brothers.
