Three: Nursing Sister Frances F. Tarleton, Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service

1914-15 Star (N. Sister Q.A.R.N.N.S.); British War and Victory Medals (N. Sister, Q.A.R.N.N.S.); together with a Scottish Territorial Red Cross Brigade Badge, silvered metal and enamel, unnamed, with pin-fitting, light contact marks, very fine, scarce (4) £140-180

In 1915 Miss Frances F. Tarleton was serving as a Nursing Sister aboard H.M.H.S. Rewa.

The British India Steam Navigation Company’s liner
Rewa was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine in the Bristol Channel on 4 January 1918 despite being clearly marked as a hospital ship.
