Francis William Nunneley was born c. 1887. He qualified as a M.B., Ch.B. Edin. in 1911. Prior to the war he served as Resident Surgical Officer at the Royal Infirmary, Bradford. Entering the Royal Navy, he was appointed Temporary Surgeon on 7 August 1914. Served on the battleship H.M.S. Agincourt from August 1914 - being present at the battle of Jutland; on H.M.S. Victory from March 1917 and H.M.S. Junior from January 1919. He was demobilised c.June 1919.
