Andrew Rugg-Gunn was born in Ullapool, Scotland on 26 November 1884. Received his medical training at the University of Edinburgh and St Bartholemew’s Hospital. Specialised as an Ophthalmic Surgeon. During the Great War he served in Gallipoli, from where he was evacuated with typhoid, and later in India, where he was ophthalmic specialist to the 16th Indian Division. After the war he settled in India, becoming Ophthalmic Surgeon to the Western Ophthalmic, Central Middlesex County and Metropolitan Ear Nose and Throat Hospitals. With copied research.
