James Hadley was born in Smethwick, Staffordshire and enlisted at Birmingham. Serving with the 1st/1st South Midland Field Ambulance, R.A.M.C., he died at home on 14 May 1916, aged 26 years. He was buried in the Birmingham (Witton) Cemetery.
